The children's shelved literature collection in the Hessel Library contains preschool books, picture books, poetry, chapter books, as well as books pertainiing to myths, legends, and folklore. Titles relating to fantasy, historical fiction, young adult literature, African-American literature can also be found.
The collection is located on the low shelves in the west end of the library. Caldecott and Newbery award books are included in the collection.

JSTORThe Library has full-text access to 350 back files of academic journals. Journals are always included from volume 1, issue 1, to most available in this database. Also available are abstracts to additional journals. Focus is on high quality research.
