Presidents

Dr. Trevor A. Kubatzke is President of Lake Michigan College. He joined LMC in 2017 with more than two decades of higher education leadership experience.

Lake Michigan College Presidents 

1954-Current 

Dr. Clarence George Beckwith became the first president of Benton Harbor Junior College.  He was Dean from 1946 – 1954 (according to Archival notes, his position was like that of a president) and officially was titled President from 1954 to his retirement on July 1, 1962.

Dr. Robert Eino Lahti became the second president of the Benton Harbor Community College and Technical Institute at the start of the 1962 – 63 school year, to Oct. 9, 1965. 

Dr. Robert Howard Plummer was named the third LMC President on January 31, 1966 and assumed his duties on February 15, 1966 – June 30, 1967.

Dr. James L. Lehman became the fourth LMC president from July 1,967 – Aug 2, 1978.

Dr. Walter F. Browe became the fifth president. October, 1978 – June 30, 1985.

Dr. Anne E. Mulder became the sixth president. July 1,1985 – Dec 31, 1993. Installation was in August 1985.

Dr. Richard J. Pappas became LMC’s seventh president. Aug 15, 1995 – July 2005.

Dr. Randall R. Miller assumed his duties as the eighth president Jan 1, 2006 - Jan 5, 2009. 

Dr. Robert Harrison –  the ninth president July 1, 2009 - 2017

Interim Presidents 

Oct. 9, 1965 – Feb. 15, 1966: A three man Administrative Committee directed college operations.
