WILLIAM HESSEL LIBRARY—GROUP STUDY ROOM GUIDELINES


The goal of the William Hessel Library’s study room offerings is to support academic success, personal growth, and collaboration by providing accessible, reservable spaces designed to foster focused study, group work, and lifelong learning in a welcoming environment.

The William Hessel Library provides a total of 18 study rooms to support academic work and collaboration:

  • 8 Group Study Rooms (Reservable)
  • 10 Sky Box Study Rooms (First Come, First Serve)

Group Study Rooms

  • Group study rooms are intended for use by groups of three or more individuals.
  • Eligible users include all members of the LMC community: students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Rooms may be reserved for up to 3 hours per day.
  • Reservations must be made in advance using the online reservation system, click here.
  • The following rooms are designated as group study rooms: L-177, L-178, L-179, L-180, L-270, A, B, C, D.
  • Reservations are required prior to use; walk-in use without a reservation is not permitted.

Sky Box Study Rooms

  • Sky Box study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Each Sky Box accommodates a maximum of 3 students.
  • There is no time limit for Sky Box use, but users are expected to be courteous and share the space during busy periods.
  • Sky Box room numbers are L-270 E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, O

Unattended Items

  • Items left unattended in any study room for longer than 15 minutes will be considered abandoned.
  • Abandoned items will be referred to Campus Security for removal and safe keeping.
